Food and beverage Client Ireland (2006-Present)

Service: Implementation of real-time OEE measurement system

Situation: The client had recently installed a new bottling line but were experiencing low throughput rates and excessive downtime resulting in lost opportunity and additional costs. Production, maintenance & contractors were confused as to what was causing the downtime. Management were unable to pin point where to focus attention for optimising the resource output due to a lack of accurate data.

Solution: Lotus Technical Services has been providing physical asset management services & solutions since 2004. Through our best in class asset management software 'Pragma On Key' we provide a fully functional real-time OEE measurement system. Following the implementation of the system, the bottling line showed an instant improvement. Accurate data on downtime causes was channelled back to relevant stakeholders. Improvement measures were implemented based on this data resulting in less downtime and improved machine availability. A 20% increase in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of the bottling line was achieved in the first 3 months resulting in improved throughput and a reduction in costs. Information rich reports were developed and are now reviewed by management, production and maintenance on a regular basis resulting in continuous improvement of the bottling line OEE.
